Easter eggs are messages, videos, graphics, sound effects, or an unusual change in program behavior that sometimes occur in a software program in response to some undocumented set of commands, mouse clicks, keystrokes or other stimuli intended as a joke or to display program credits.
The developement team of the Splatterhouse game hid some easter eggs in the games.
Films
Evil Dead/Army of Darkness (series)
- In Phase Four: The Meat Factory, Rick finds a shotgun in the hands of a dead man. The man has black hair, wears a tattered blue workshirt, and the man appears to be missing his right hand. This dead man is a reference to Ashley J. Williams from the Evil Dead movies.
- The laughing fish trophies in Phase One: Satan's Masque are reference to the laughing deer head trophy scene from Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn.
- In Splatterhouse 2, Rick comes across ram heads that vomit at him. This again is a reference to the laughing deer head trophy scene.
- In the orginal Splatterhouse games, one of the enemies was an Evil Hand, another reference to a scene from Evil Dead 2.
- One of the achievements/trophiesis called "Army of Dead Evil" which is a combination of "Army of Darkness" and "Evil Dead".
A Nightmare on Elm Street (series)
- In Phase Six: Beast With a Human Heart, a burnt corpse wearing Freddy's glove is seen near a boiler. Nearby it is Freddy's red and green sweater.
- The Giant Boreworm's introduction bears a resemblence to the "Freddy Snake" scene from A Nightmare On Elm Street part 3: Dream Warrior.
Friday the 13th (series)
- One of the achievements/trophies in the 2010 game is called "Jason Schmason", an obvious reference to Jason Voorhees.
- One of the weapons in the 2010 game in a Machete Knife.
C.H.U.D.
- During Phase Three, in the zombie infested sewer area, there are several leaking barrels of glowing green toxic waste. A geiger counter can be heard, meaning that the waste is radioactive.
Alien (series)
- In Phase Six: Beast With a Human Heart, there's a room with several pods resembling the eggs from the movie.
- One area has several corpses stuck to the wall through organic growth, like in the Alien series.
- The remake version of the Boreworms resemble the "Chestburster" phase of the Xenomorph aliens in the series.
- On the Splatterhouse 2 boxart, there's a monster that strongly resembles an adult Xenomorph.
Rawhead Rex
- In one of Dr. West's glass vats, a giant floating head is seen. The head resembles Rawhead Rex's.
Total Recall
- The achievement "See you at the Party!" is a reference to a line said by Arnold Schwarzenegger's character, Doug Quaid. The line is said during this scene.
Re-Animator
- Dr. Henry West's name is similar to Dr. Herbert West. Both of which are mad scientists that use science to resurrect the dead.
- The achievemnet/trophy "Flesh Re-Animated" is a reference to the film's title.
Shaun of the Dead
- The achievement "You Got Red on You" is based on a line said in the movie.
Splatterhouse
Splatterhouse Wanpaku Graffiti
- In one of Jenny's pictures, she is backstage at a "Wanpaku Graffiti" concert.
- One of the levels of the game "Be Garbage of Cesspool" was used as the name of an achievement.
- The same level name was used as graffiti in the haunted house area in Phase Seven: Scream Park.
Splatterhouse (1988)
- The first side-scrolling area in Splatterhouse (2010) is a zombie-infested dungeon with several floor spikes. This is a refernce to the first level in Splatterhouse (1988), which was also a zombie-nfested dungeon.
- In the side-scrolling area in Phase Four: The Meat Factory, the Terror Mask says "Ahh, just like old times."
- In Phase Six: Beast With a Human Heart, it says that Rick was a killer in "another life, in another game."
- In Phase Seven, there's a cardboard cut-out of the Hell Chaos.
Splatterhouse 2
- The Spitter is a monster very similar to the Blood Puppet.
- In Phase Seven, there's a cardboard cut-out of Bighead.
Splatterhouse 3
- Rick's "normal form" whle wearing the Terror Mask in Splatterhouse (2010) is similar to the Splatterhouse 3 version of Mutant Rick.
- The Mutant Rick power is re-used in Splatterhouse (2010), this time called Berserker Rick.
- The Splatterhouse (2010) version of the Terror Mask is very similar to the Splatterhouse 3 version.

- If Rick is standing idle long enough, he and the Terror Mask have a brieve discussion on the bands that Rick listens to. ASG is mentioned.
Wolfshirt
- One of the achievements/trophies in the 2010 game, "Headlong into Monsters", is a reference to a song by Wolfshirt.
Mutant Supremacy
- One of the achievements/trophies in the 2010 game, "Morbid Dismemberment", shares the title of a song by Mutant Supremacy.

- Rick wears a Mastodon T-shirt at the beggining of the game.
Literature
H. P. Lovecraft
- The Necronomican, Arkham and Miskatonic River are all from stories by H.P. Lovecraft
- During Phase Three, there is several pieces of Cthulu grafitti, and a poster for "Hollywood Cthulu: A Live Cthulu Musical".
- In Phase Six, a large creature similar to Cthulhu is seen inside a large glass tank.
- One of Dr. West's false names was "Howard Phillips West". The first two names, Howard Phillips, were also the first two names in H.P. Lovecraft/Howard Phillips Lovecraft's name.
- In the flashback before the start of Phase Three, Jennifer mentions a festival called "Shadow Over Arkham", this is could be a reference to the story "Shadows Over Innsmouth", which is written by Lovecraft.
Herbert West-Reanimaor
- Dr. Henry West's name is similar to Dr. Herbert West. Both of which are mad scientists that use science to resurrect the dead.
- At the end of Phase Six, Dr. Henry West pulls out a hypodermic needle filled with a glowing green liquid. During the film series based of Herbert West-Reanimator, the Re-Animator movies, Dr. Herbert West's reagent is depicted as a glowing green liquid.
- The achievemnet/trophy "Flesh Re-Animated" is a reference to the film's title.
- One of Rick Taylor's former classmates (who was turned into a Forgotten) was named "Dan". In the Re-Animator movie, one of the main characters was named "Dan Cain".
Globe Shoes
- Rick and Jennifer both wear Globe brand skate shoes. Jennifer appears to be wearing a varient of Globe Haslam Saboton, and Rick is wearing a pair of Globe Superfly.
- While promoting the game, Globe sold a variant of Superfly sneakers with Splatterhouse decorations.
