The Evil One is an immortal being who serves as the main antagonist of the original Splatterhouse series and Terror Mask’s archenemy. It is the ruler of both the Void and the demonic creatures that reside in his dark realm. It made its first appearance in Splatterhouse 2 as an invincible chasing stage hazard with a slim but gigantic appearance whom Rick and Jennifer successfully escaped from. He also made his return in Splatterhouse 3 as the penultimate boss that is fused with another old boss known as Bighead who appears to be the vessel of the Evil One’s new organic and muscular body which Rick must encounter again for the second and final time.

After the Evil One's defeat at the hands of Rick, the Terror Mask took the Evil One's remaining power for itself.

Description[]

Unlike other monsters in the series, which are grotesque in appearance, the Evil One has a bright, radiant appearance with a very tall and well-built humanoid figure who can fire orbs or bolts of lightning from his body alone. This malevolent entity is apparently godlike with a bright blue aura, and resides in a dimension with a rather regal appearance. In Splatterhouse 2, after Rick destroyed the Unholy Crystal holding Jennifer, the background changed into a demonic void of the souls of the damned, and The Evil One began to chase after the duo while firing energy blasts. Luckily, Rick and Jennifer managed to reach the portal in time, escaping his wrath for the time being. In Splatterhouse 3, The Evil One’s demonic forces corrupted Rick’s home and captured Jennifer and Rick’s son David, who would be the key components in the ritual to summon him back to the real world and begin his reign of terror anew. After Rick and Terror Mask saved Jennifer from the Giant Boreworm, it was revealed to be a distraction, as The Evil One actually only needed David for his evil plans due to his unique psychic abilities, which would allow The Evil One to unlock the power of the Dark Stone, an ancient relic overflowing with Black Magic, which would give him unlimited power. After battling his way through the Splatterhouse, Rick finally encounters The Evil One, who enters the temple in a burst of lightning. After a long battle, The Evil One is defeated, with his body falling over and shattering into pieces. However, the Terror Mask revealed its true evil intentions, and possessed The Evil One’s corpse to kill Rick, but is destroyed itself, finally ending the nightmare once and for all.
